This map shows why Britain has the whip hand in negotiations. All EU shipping lanes go through our waters.

Ruke Britannia, Britannia rules her waves.

“The biggest mistake anyone can make is to believe barnier is acting for the best interests of the EU.

He is acting under the direct orders of the French President.

Barnier is a French citizen himself and is being told to keep the fish.

Britain has been paying millions to Europe for fish caught in our waters.

The EU has and still is carrying out a massive deception on the amount of fish they were catching in UK waters.

Under recording catch figures as the Greek, French, Spanish and Italian fleets have was an act of war in the past.

We would have dragged their boats out of the water and burned them for their insolent cheating.” PB

They can do a deal or they can sail around us. Simple as.

  1. This is a map of the exclusive economic zones not the territorial sea. Within these zones coastal nations do have control of all economic resources (fishing, mining, etc). However, it cannot prohibit passage or loitering above, on, or under the surface of the sea that is in compliance with the laws and regulations adopted by the coastal State in accordance with the provisions of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982. So on fishing they do have a tiny whip in hand, but as far as shipping lanes they have very little leverage outside the Territorial sea and even the Contiguous zone.
